@main_events Wilson Trained on the Mean Streets of Philly and Ready to Face “The Rock” The last time Garrett “The Ultimate Warrior” Wilson (13-7-1, 7 KOs) fought he had less than three days’ notice on a special broadcast NBC edition of Fight Night. Garrett was called on to fill in, at a higher weight class, for Tomasz Adamek who fell ill just days before his fight with Vyacheslav “Czar” Glazkov. Wilson jumped at the chance and managed to go the distance with the undefeated heavyweight but ultimately lost a unanimous decision.

The 32-year old cruiserweight from Philadelphia, PA wanted another chance at Fight Night fans when he accepted a fight earlier this year with Thabiso “The Rock” Mchunu (16-1, 11 KOs). In another twist of fate, Wilson had to pull out of the fight with Mchunu due to an injury to his Achilles’ tendon. Now Wilson finally has his chance, he is healthy, has had a regular training camp and is poised to take on Mchunu this Saturday (Sept. 20) at Foxwoods Resort Casino on another special afternoon broadcast edition of NBC Fight Night.
